Recalls

The recall record is built from NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) flat files, specifically the post-2010 recalls dataset, refreshed on a regular schedule. See the NHTSA datasets and APIs directory.

VIN recall lookups

The VIN recall check queries NHTSA's public recalls API directly from your browser. Results reflect open recalls for the vehicle as recorded by NHTSA.
