Land Rover LR2 Recalls (2010-2015)
The Land Rover LR2 has been the subject of 3 recall campaigns on record with NHTSA across the 2010 to 2015 model years. They cluster mostly around the air bags and service brakes.
The Land Rover LR2 scores 50 out of 100 (grade C), a roughly average recall record. That score reflects how serious the recalls are rather than how many. 100% involve a critical safety system, none carried a do-not-drive warning, and 0% were issued in the last three years. How the score works.
Those 3 campaigns span 6 model years of the Land Rover LR2. The single largest affected 40,551 vehicles, over air bags. A recall repair is free at a franchised dealer and most never expire, so an older open recall is still worth fixing. Beyond recalls, you can also see the most common LR2 problems owners report.
The full record is below, grouped first by model year and then listed in detail. Each entry gives the defect NHTSA describes, the safety risk it creates, the manufacturer's remedy, the number of vehicles in that campaign, and the dates. A recall covers a whole production run, so a campaign listed for the Land Rover LR2 may not apply to your exact vehicle, and one you have already had repaired will still appear in the history. To see what is actually open and unfixed on a specific car, check its 17-digit VIN.

Defect: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2010-2015 LR2 and 2012-2013 Range Rover Evoque vehicles. A component within the Occupant Classification System (OCS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may fail, resulting in the front seat passenger air bag being totally or partially disabled.
Risk: In the event of a crash necessitating air bag deployment, if the air bag is disabled, the air bag may not deploy or may not deploy properly, increasing the risk of injury to the front seat passenger.
Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the Restraint Control Module software, free of charge. The recall began on August 30, 2014. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P046.

Defect: Jaguar Land Rover is recalling certain model year 2012 LR2 and Range Rover Evoque vehicles manufactured on June 11, 2012. The rear brake caliper retaining bolts may be insufficiently torqued.
Risk: Insufficiently torqued brake caliper bolts may result in the brake caliper detaching. A detached brake caliper may lead to a loss of brake function. Additonally, the caliper may strike a wheel resulting in the sudden deflation of a tire. Either situation may increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
Remedy: Jaguar Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and tighten the rear brake caliper retaining bolts, free of charge. The recall began on January 11, 2013. Owners may contact Jaguar Land Rover at 1-800-637-6837, Option 9.
